Milton Abbey, comprising the house and the Abbey church of St. Catherine's, lies in a prime location in a valley near the village of Hilton. The entire village of Milton Abbas (Middleton) was moved further up the hill in the early 18th century, in order to enjoy this location, as with Crichel House.
On a sunny summer's afternoon, approach Milton Abbey along the road from Hilton and reach for your camera; but no need as the view will be etched on your mind!
